A Terrible Time

It was a terrible time
Starting about 9 AM
And then on last Lords day
A voice came to say
All prophecy that you have desired
Has expired
And you are a no-body
And by the way
if there is no prophecy
and it has expired
anyone who says
they are a poet is a liar –
You are a no-body
You are fired!
And at this point I am feeling
Very very, very, tired.
And just then
That voice reminded me
Of that particular Lords day
When the cups and bread were
dropped to the floor
and to my horror that voice said
even here there is no respect
for the one you call the Lord
and then I knew
It was the voice of the liar.
And I came to understand anew
This was the truth for me and you:
I am a no-body and I may
Not be a poet or a psychologist
Or decent father and husband!
This horrible fight
here in my head and heart took a turn
and brought me delight
by the end of the day –
Just before the darkness of night.
Because the One who is the truth
Has brought us God’s good News:
You are a no-body.
For now, we are of another-body
A body made of light within the One
We know as Jesus Christ
and we are in Christ and Christ is in us.
We are a no-body to this world
For we are the Body of Christ
I am a no-body
For we are all
Of One Body in Christ
for ever and ever amen
So, remember when the bread and cups fell
an accident
or happenstance
Is His Holy Spirit
Reminding us that what has fallen
Has Arisen in celestial dance.
We are no longer held in prison
We rejoice in being a no-body
For we are of
One-Body
In a wonderful
Heavenly romance.
