Adefoluke “Ade” Omotoso Shemsu
MedicineSinging Board Consultant Resource
Education
University of Pennsylvania
Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences Data Analytics, Climate Change, & Global Analysis
This degree explores four major skill buckets that toe the line between data analytics and data science while exploring the way data can be used to solve social, environmental, economic, and political problems.
From 2014-2020, Ade invested 10,000 hours across various communities, participating in everything from trail projects in California, to building affordable housing in Oregon, facilitating reading programs in Maryland, supporting in youth programs in Washington state, and organizing neighborhoods in Ohio to name a few. During some of those years, he spent more time living at parks in tents or cabins than in buildings. This is where his love of the environment and people blossomed to inform his educational pursuits, his worldview, and overall professional ambitions.
Ade hopes to someday serve at the behest of the environment and its participants for a global nonprofit, on Capitol Hill, or any other place where the greatest and most complex challenges facing Mother Earth may lie.
